In this pattern you can mix and match between several options to customize your Sprite:
-Elf ears
-Cat ears
-Wings
-Bendable tail
The instructions are written in US crochet terms, with step by step photos.
There is very little sewing involved, the doll is made in one piece, the ears and wings do need to be attached by hand.
When made with cotton yarn weight 4 (medium) the finished product will be about 11 inches long
You’ll need to know how to:
-make a Magic Ring
-work in a round
-single crochet
-increase/decrease
-chain stitch
-slip stitch
What you need to make a Sprite:
-Crochet hook 2.5 (c) (or 2mm/B for thinner yarn.)
-Cotton yarn for the body in your color/style of choice.
-Acrylic yarn for the hair.
-Scissors.
-Tapestry needle to weave the ends.
-2x 8mm oval safety eyes.
-Anodized aluminum craft wire* (I use 12 gauge. It needs to be slim enough to still
fit your limbs, but firm enough to hold its shape.)
-Flat nose pliers, to cut and bend your wire.
-Stuffing. (like Poly-Fil.)
JELLYFISH MERMAID PATTERN
This dress up pattern is suitable for Sprites made with my Fantasy Sprite pattern and the little Sprite pattern!
To change the look of your jelly outfit, you can vary with colors, different types of (cotton) yarn and decide on different stripes; you can use yarn or ‘paint’ them on.
If you like the look you can add ruffles on the cap and skirt as you can see on the blue/pink Jelly Sprite.
The white jelly outfit doesn't have any stripes or ruffles, but is still super cute!
What will you need:
- A Sprite made with my pattern.
- Crochet hook 1 mm bigger than what you used to make your Sprite.
- (Cotton) Yarn, similar to what you used for your Sprite, or the dimensions will be off.
(Different types of yarn will make for different sized Sprites.)
- Scissors.
- Tapestry needle.
- Optional: A brush and pastels or eyeshadow to make the shade lines on the jellys.
If you made a (Mermaid) Sprite using this pattern please share her online and be sure to tag me @fantasysprites.
